New Year's Eve Event

Last night we celebrated New Year’s Eve of the Gregorian calendar. The event was a success due to participation by Sangha members from Drukpa centres, followers, YDA and Live to Love members around the world with pure devotion, compassion and care, dedicated to all sentient beings. The success of the event has lifted the spirits of everyone stressed out by the pandemic.

Many of you are now asking me if there will be any activity to mark the new year of the Lunar calendar. According to Lunar calendar astrology, directional change in planetary movements affect elemental characteristics, and performing special pujas at such a time can reverse any negative effect on elemental character. So we will celebrate the Lunar calendar new year with Nolsang Smoke Puja on 12/2/2021 at 4 am Nepal time in the open air in front of the Kunhyen Padma Karpo statues of Druk Amitabha Mountain DGK Nunnery, followed by hoisting of the Drukpa flag.

Details of the programme will be announced later by my office.

कल रात हमने ग्रेगोरियन कैलेंडर के नए साल की पूर्व संध्या का जशन् सफलता पूर्वक मनाया। विभिन्न द्रुक्पा केंद्रों से संघ के सदस्य, ड्रुक्पा अनुयायी, वाई.डी.ए, और ‘लीव टू लव’ के दुनिया भर के सदस्यों द्वारा विशुद्ध भक्ति, करुणा और सभी जगत-प्राणियों के प्रति समर्पण की भावना के साथ की गई सराहनीय भागीदारी के कारण कार्यक्रम अत्यन्त सफल रहा। निःसन्देह इस आयोजन की सफलता ने महामारी से जूझ रहे सभी की भावना को जीवन्त और जीवन को स्फूर्त बनाया।

आप में से कई अब मुझसे पूछ रहे हैं कि क्या चंद्र कैलेंडर के नए साल को चिह्नित करने के लिए कोई गतिविधि होगी? चन्द्र-पंचांग (Lunar Calendar) का नव-वर्ष-उत्सव हम अमिताभा (नेपाल) में प्रातः 4 बजे से कुन्खेन पद्मा-करपो-प्रतिमा के सम्मुख खुले आँगन में नोलसंग-पूजा (Nolsang Smoke Puja) के आयोजन के साथ मनायेंगे, और साथ ही पूजा समापन पर ड्रक्पा-ध्वज फहरायेंगे।
